Colon Shines as PawSox Take Game One, 2-0

Bartolo Colon Pitched six scoreless innings, giving up only one hit, as the PawSox edged the Buffalo Bisons in game one of today's double header 2-0.

Colon (2-0) was solid, striking out four and walking no one. He threw only 64 pitches in six innings, 45 of which were strikes. With this solid performance the Red Sox may be pressured to call up Colon before his next start.

Chris Smith pitched a perfect seventh to notch his fourth save.

The Pawtucket runs came in the first on a George Kottaras single and a Sandy Madera sacrifice fly.

Buffalo starter Adam Miller (0-1) was also impressive in taking the loss. He gave up only two hits in his six innings on the mound.

Game two comes up momentarily with David Pauley on the mound for Pawtucket against Jason Stanford for Buffalo.
