Game 62- PawSox vs Knights, June 5, 2008

The PawSox are looking to right the ship tonight as they play game three of a four game series against the Charlotte Knights. RHP David Pauley (7-2, 3.78) will take the mound for Pawtucket. opposed by RHP Lance Broadway (5-3, 2.95) for the Knights.

Here are how the teams match-up...

Pawtucket Red Sox (35-26)

The PawSox have lost three straight and are currently 2-4 on this Carolina road trip. They have not lost four straight since August of last season. Pawtucket is still sitting in third place in the IL North Division, two games behind division leader Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

The PawSox offense has scored only a total of five runs during their three game skid. During that time the PawSox fell to third in the International League in team batting average (.269). Jed Lowrie has been hot at the plate, entering tonight's game with a 6 game hitting streak over which he has hit .458 with two doubles, a triple, and 3 RBI's.

Pauley makes his 12th start of the season tonight. He was victorious in his last outing, despite giving up seven runs on 11 hits in the PawSox 14-7 win at Durham last Saturday.

Charlotte Knights (23-36)

The Knights enter the game having taken the first two games of the series with the PawSox. They remain in third place in the IL South Division, 8 games behind division leader Richmond.

Broadway will be making his 12th start of the season. He has been shaky over his last four outings, going 0-2 with an ERA of 6.61. He has given up 40 hits in that span, walking five and striking out 12.
